Exploring Indiana

It's sort of a blip in my life story that I lived in Indiana for two years while Chris was on a teaching fellowship and Butler University and completing his dissertation, from 2021-2023.

We lived in Indianapolis and although I didn't put down roots, I made the most of it. We had a great group of friends through grad school, everything was super affordable, and there were so many new sites to explore!

Here are some pictures from our two years in Indiana:

Cocktails at Strange Bird in Irvington, Indianapolis

We did a pontoon/tubing day on Lake Monroe

Van Gogh exhibit at Newfields Museum in Indianapolis

Downtown march when Roe v. Wade was being overturned

Weekend trip over to Cincinnati to visit my family (and Rhinegeist Brewery)

St. Elmo Steak House in Indianapolis is one of my favorite restaurants ever

Indianapolis underground was a cool tour!

Went to Columbus, IN for an architecture tour

Dog-friendly cafe in Broad Ripple, IN was great during the winter

Giving the dog a ride at Griffy Lake Nature Preserve in Bloomington, IN

Got to cheer Chris on at cold and wet Indianapolis Marathon

At the end of the two years, we decided to move to Atlanta. Indiana might have been a quick layover in our life's journey, but it's where we both laid the foundation for new careers, saved money, made great connections, and built our family unit of two humans, a cat, and a dog together.
