Midwest Summer Road Trip

Before moving to Indianapolis, Chris and I roadtripped around the Midwest for about a month. We started with a slow drive up to Marquette, Michigan, passing through the Upper Peninsula and driving through Traverse City. The nature in that part of the country during the summer was isolate and lush.

Marquette was a magical small town. Lots of amazing meals on the water, long walks and exploring by foot, and time spent outdoors.

After Marquette, we drove to Madison, Wisconsin to visit my friend Sarah's farm. Squashington Farm in Mount Horeb is one of my favorite places on Earth.

After spending a couple weeks in more laid-back, nature-themed areas, we ended in Chicago and got to see friends and experience a more urban summer environment.

Ended the trip in Chicago where I got to go skating in California Park

The Midwest is an affordable part of the country, with lots of history, great food, cute towns, and natural sight-seeing. If you want to road trip for a few weeks, it's a great region.
