Three Domestic Trips in 2019
2019 has all been domestic travel, mostly to visit my Bees (my dear childhood friend group from Florida).
Trip 1 was visiting Ryan and Zack in Austin, Texas. Visiting friends was nice, but I will say that Austin wasn't as "weird" as I thought it would be. It felt like most other mid-sized American cities.
The guys took us to Terry Black's BBQ for brisket
Nina and I roomed together for the conference we were in attending
Somehow we got both of our employers to send us to SXSW EDU.
Trip 2 was a Beeunion in Madison, WI to stay on Sarah's Squashington Farm. We did a PowerPoint night, visited a local art installation, and ate incredible food around their dining table.
Can't remember the name of this metal works installation near Madison
Many yummy meals shared around the dining table
Huddling for warmth in the big drafty Victorian farmhouse
I got to inject mushrooms into logs!!!
Trip 3 was Hannah's 30th birthday on the Jersey shore. We stayed in a big house walking distance to the beach, and did a talent show in Hannah's honor.
Whole group beach day
Picnicking in the backyard
When I started to consider leaving Hong Kong and moving back to the US, these were the exact types of experiences I had in mind.
